DIY Dip Dyed Cloth Napkins

Mothers Day is right around the corner and these hand made beauties are a perfect little gift for your perfect little mama! I don't know anyone that wouldn't love these chic treasures!

This Mother's Day I signed my mom and I up for a wine tasting class! I'm very excited! All I know about wine is what the sample guy at Trader Joes has taught me. However, I think I am pretty advanced- I mean my $7.00 bottle has the perfect viscosity and floral notes if you ask me! ;) While I think my mom will love the class I wanted to give her something tangible as well. These cloth napkins will be perfect.

I can just picture it already- her pulling out these little babies for a fancy night on the patio with my dad who probably whipped up a fresh batch of chicken wings or jalapeno poppers! And while we all love a popper we have to add a little class to the mix- insert hand made cloth napkins. We aren't using brawny paper towels for this feast folks!

Enough about my very advanced Sommelier skills! More to come on that after the class.. on to the DIY!

DIY Dip Dyed Cloth Napkins

Materials Needed-

  • White Cloth Napkins
  • RIT Dye (of course I got the one called Merlot)
  • Container- I used a plastic storage container
  • Gloves
1) Mix the dye according to the instructions on the back of the bottle.
2) Rest the napkins on the side of the container; dipping them in about 1/4 of the way up the napkin. I dipped it a bit unevenly on purpose. I didn't want mine to look perfect!
3) Let them sit for 10 min.
4) Hang dry over night.

I then tied mine with a cute piece of twine! Perfection!
